The first Parent Empowerment Dinner for the 2021-2022 school year was held on Tuesday October 5th, hosted by Robla School District and the Roberts Family Development Center. Guest speaker Virdiana Diaz, Ed.D. Associate Vice President, Student Strategic Support, California State University, Sacramento spoke about “The Importance of Education and Your Personal Walk.” She shared how all families can access higher learning for their children, her own journey as a person of color who faced many challenges in life, and she will share a message about things all parents can do even when their child is very young.
Live entertainment was provided by Mariachi Los Gallos, and amazing chicken sopes were prepared by the Robla School District Food Services Department. The Roberts Family Development Center provided child care for parents attending with children.
