Uploaded Nov 05, 2019 to Robla STRING ProjectAs we wrap up Latin Heritage Month, we would like to share some pictures from our recent Latin Heritage Month Parent Dinner, which the Robla School District Coordinated in partnership with the Roberts Family Development Center. Check out all of the event photos at: https://robla.edlioadmin.com/apps/media/albums#/albums/school/0/317389/photos
Families and participants experienced a festive environment with a live performance by Mariachi Los Gallos, Ballet Folklorico performance by Glenwood Elementary School students, student artwork, and a hosted dinner prepared by Robla Nutrition Services.
Our special guest, Cathy Rodriguez, CEO, Sacramento Hispanic Chamber of Commerce spoke about how all families can access opportunities and higher learning for their children, her own journey as a Latina who faced many challenges in life. “Giving your children a little more with opportunities in life gives families a lot more,” she shared.
Each year, Robla School District hosts three Parent Empowerment Dinners celebrating Latin Heritage Month, Black History Month, and Asian American Pacific Islander Month, each celebrating the rich cultural diversity of Robla students and families. These events bring families and school staff together to share a meal and feature inspirational speakers and provide parents resources to help their children achieve in school and life. This event is coordinated in partnership with the Roberts Family Development Center.
Thank you for celebrating Latin Heritage Month with us!
