Volunteers/Chaperones

Thank you for your interest in being a volunteer in the Robla School District!

Our district values and encourages the support of parents, guardians, and community members in sharing their unique skills and expertise with our students. We have various opportunities for volunteers, including tutoring, mentoring, library and cafeteria assistance, school beautification projects, art literacy instruction, and science fair judging. By sharing their time and talents, volunteers enrich the educational experience, provide additional support to teachers and staff, and foster positive school-community partnerships. This also offers volunteers meaningful experiences.

For the safety of our students, staff, and others, we've put a volunteer verification process in place to ensure a positive experience.

All volunteers and chaperones must go through this one-time process before they can volunteer on a school campus or at a school-related activity.

Volunteer/Chaperone Application Process
Easy as 123!

1. Complete Volunteer Application
To safeguard the safety and well-being of our students and staff, each prospective volunteer must complete an application through our districtwide volunteer management system called Raptor and then submit to a California criminal background check. You'll receive a confirmation email as soon as the application has been approved.
2. Await Approval:
If approved: You’ll receive an email with the next steps. This will include submitting a negative Tuberculosis (TB) test and completing a Criminal Background Check through the Department of Justice (DOJ).

Important: The Robla School District offers reimbursement for the background check rolling fee if your check comes back clear! Our district uses a local center for this, but you can choose a different vendor if you prefer. Just keep your receipt to submit for reimbursement.

If denied: You’ll get an email letting you know. If you have questions about the denial, please contact our Personnel Department at 916-649-5248.

3. Start Volunteering!
Once you submit your negative TB screening and clear background check, you’re all set to begin volunteering at your child’s school!

Be sure to check your school’s ParentSquare Page regularly for upcoming family and community engagement events where you can get involved.
