Born in 1961, I began working for Robla School in January of 1990 as a Bus Driver/Custodian. Married for 36 years, the father of 4 wonderful children, and the grandfather of 2; for a job that was supposed to be a temporary part time commitment it has turned into a career.
Having graduated for Seminary in 1981 and accepting my first position in the Middle East in 1982 I learn quite early that it doesn’t matter what college you graduated from or what work you do for a living as long as you do it well and to the best of your ability. For many years I worked multiple jobs while my wife stayed home to raise our children and then continued to do so while she went back to college to obtain her degree in education.
In 2002 I accepted a position in the District Office as the Executive Assistant to the Assistant Superintendent and the Director of Maintenance and Transportation. In 2006 I became the Trainer Dispatcher for the Transportation Department after having completed the Certified Trainers Course with the Department of Education/Office of School Bus Transportation and have kept that position for the last 12 and half years.
Now 57 years old, all of my children have grown up and left home. I am proud to say that each of them attended Robla School District. My 3 sons have all served or are on active duty with the military, having done multiple tours in Afghanistan, Iraq, and the Persian Gulf. My Daughter is a graduate from Sac State and has a degree in Bio-Chemistry and is currently enrolled there in the Master’s Program while being a substitute teacher for Robla School District.
