A Message from the Director of Special Services

Dear Parents, Families and Staff,

It is an honor and privilege to be part of the Robla School District, working to advance the success of students with exceptional needs. Our partnerships with families and the community are important to help us reach our district’s vision: Every student reaches their potential in a growth-minded environment rich in challenging practices and reflective learning for all.

Our highly qualified and appropriately licensed staff have worked hard to ensure our diverse learners receive the services they need and deserve.  Programming is in place across the district to provide research-based educational options to best meet the needs of individual students.  Our programming includes age-appropriate, standards-based academic curriculum, as well as engaging social-emotional learning materials to foster growth for the “whole child.”

In addition to in-person learning, we provide families with a variety of ways to meet with their students’ service providers.  IEP meetings and conferences may be held in-person or virtually to accommodate families’ schedules and preferences.  Families are encouraged to connect directly with students’ Case Managers and Service Providers to work collaboratively to establish open communication and ensure that your student is on the road to a successful education.

As the district Special Services Director, I am committed to leading a department where students are provided with high quality instruction and where staff and families work together in partnership.  Questions and comments are always welcome, so please don’t hesitate to contact me anytime.

Sincerely,

Janet Horowitz
