District Office
• Supports the philosophy, goals, objectives and policies of the District as adopted by the Board of Trustees and established Management Staff in support of all students, staff and community members.
• Work with district’s Nutrition Commission Committee, strengthen and implement district-level wellness policies that align with federal/state laws, regulations and best practices.
• Communicate health and wellness priorities to the district administrative team, school principals, staff, parents/families, community organizations and students using a variety of tools that engage all stakeholders and support the connection between health and learning.
• Identify potential resources for improved nutrition and physical activity opportunities through federal, state and local grant. Facilitates grants execution and serves as primary grant project coordinator.
• Build collaborative relationships with local community partners to leverage resources, expand existing programs and secure new partnerships.
• Serves as primary point of contact and liaison to community-based programs and initiatives (e.g. United Way, Sacramento START, health Education Council, Mutual Assistance Network, Sacramento Food Bank, etc.) aimed at improving school climate.
• Coordinate and/or provide district level professional development opportunities for teachers, food-service staff and parents.
• Create systems and processes to track progress in these areas utilizing quantifiable and data-driven rubrics to prepare background documents, fact sheets, and other communication materials to present to school board.
• Establishes and maintains effective, cooperative relationships with all those contacted in performance of duties
• Performs other duties as assigned
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health, Nutrition/Dietetics, Health Education, or similar field
• May substitute Five or more years of increasingly responsible work experience in this field for an advanced degree
• Three or more years of experience as a Project Manager/Program Development
